The Opportunity

We strive to deliver a high quality, reliable, 24x7 Payment Acceptance Platform via a SAAS model. The Senior Cloud Engineer positionis responsible for designing, creating and sustaining the software engineering tools and systems used to manage the cloud platform and its supporting systems.

They work closely with developers, QA and Operations to identify, implement, document, and sustain the automated CI / CD systems, development and production environments.

There is a strong focus on migrating our existing on-premise applications into a cloud architecture. The role supports a wide array of technologies, with solutions ranging from Mobile applications (Android / iOS) to Backend & Frontend technologies like C# and Java environments in both Windows and Linux.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Act as a critical part of a multi-team effort to deliver, manage and maintain automation tools such as CI / CD / build pipelines, Infrastructure-as-code, automated testing solutions and configuration / deployment management.
  • Lead translation of requirements into reliable, scalable and maintainable cloud based automation systems for you and your peers to implement
  • Develop your skills as a technical mentor through peer reviews and other collaborative engineering practices
  • Coordinate with production operations teams to help migrate our on-prem solutions to fit in cloud architectures GCP
  • Contribute to platform quality and maintainability by writing automation scripts, managing tools and ensuring solutions are repeatable, automated, and documented clearly.

Who Are We Looking For

In practice this means :

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a software development related field
  • 8+ years working in software development tools / deployment or operations related fields
  • Motivation and passion for teamwork and mentorship with excellent verbal and written communication skills, drive to learn new technologies
  • You are an expert in build, deployment and configuration (CI / CD) pipelines using tools like Bamboo, Octopus, Jenkins, Ancible and on cloud platform / tools / Infrastructure-as-code like AWS and Azure;

preference given to GCP experience.

  • Have substantial experience with software development practices and tools like GIT / Stash and are familiar with the processes used to build complex software solutions, such as Maven, Ant, Visual Studio / MSBuild, CMake, Android Developer Studio and other development environments.
  • Able to write scripts and automations in languages like Power Shell, Bash, Python, and other scripting like languages.
  • Familiar with software development life cycle frameworks and processes (Scrum)
