Job Overview :
We are looking for a Production Manager for an exciting opportunity with us. In this position you will be responsible for all production activities on the production floor including meeting production schedules and prioritizing production, cost management, quality and customer service targets. In addition, the role will provide day-to-day direction to the floor production staff
Location : Vaughan, ON
Shift : Day - (7 : 00AM - 3 : 00PM)
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise manufacturing operations to meet production schedules while maintaining effective employee relations and complying with GMP, Food Safety, Food Quality and Health & Safety regulatory requirements which are aligned with Give & Go’s long-term-plan (LTP)
- Supervise personnel in the efficient use of equipment and materials to produce quality products on time in accordance with the production business plan
- Promotes safe work practices to operating personnel during all aspects of production and ensures all standards are met on a daily basis .
- Responsible for all production activity, and to oversee and facilitate maintenance of equipment in assigned areas
- Responsible for verifying required processing parameters and statistical processing methods (SPC) to improve process efficiency, product quality and reduced waste. Ensure Control charts are within upper and lower control limit (+ / - 3 sigma)
- Lead, coach and develop personnel including providing feedback and conducting formal evaluations, to ensure having the right resource skills, competencies and expertise to meet department and agreed-upon business objectives of the company
- Assists in the hiring and training of production team members from Supervisory level to GPW
- Monitors and develops the production team to foster continuous improvements and transfers skills to team as appropriate .
- Assist the Plant Manager in generating reports for deviations in manufacturing processes, assists in the investigations, and recommends / implements solutions to resolve deviations
- Ensures the efficient flow of materials for production as well as proper documentation practices are maintained consistently to company standards in manufacturing worksheets, training documentation, production logs and so on.
- Promote a positive work environment by effectively administering Company policies and procedures including performance management by communicating information to employees and responding to their concerns
- Ensures shift changes to other Supervisors are done seamlessly and all relevant information / issues are communicated effectively
Recipe for Success :
Completion of college diploma in Engineering, Management or a related fieldMinimum of 5 years of prior supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferably within the Food Manufacturing industryPrevious experience proposing and driving change initiatives / improvement programsExcellent knowledge of Food Safety, SPC, GMP’s, SQF, HACCP, Allergens and Health & SafetyStrong communication skills (verbal and written; strong listening skills).Strong judgement, analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions.Good ability to motivate and empower team members by providing feedback and recognitionStrong ability to influence stakeholders and manage conflictAbility to prioritize demands and shift between conflicting priorities in a fast-paced work environmentStrong computer skills, with familiarity with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)What we can offer :
