Overview :

This position will be the project leader for new packaging solutions at Tim Hortons. Collaborating with our supplier partners, and cross-functional teams you will design, develop and launch packaging for our more than 4,000 Canadian restaurants.

You will work with culinary, marketing, operations, procurement, quality and supply chain teams and own the end-to-end execution of new packaging projects.

This is a 12 month fixed term project.

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Develops and execute new packaging innovations research / benchmark, design, design experiments and conduct testing, interpret data, report out results / recommendations.
  • Create / develop packaging specifications in partnership with the Quality Assurance team.
  • Manages all core packaging projects at Tim Hortons (artwork changes, new product introductions (NPI) and sustainability).
  • Manages continuous optimization of existing packaging SKUs with vendors to drive functionality and cost.
  • Be the key point of contact and develop relationships with our partners.

Required Skills :

  • Bachelor’s Degree Engineering (Manufacturing / Mechanical / Chemical Engineering preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing / design / product development
  • Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills as well as leadership capabilities
  • Strong analytical skills (researching, analyzing and interpreting data)
  • Ability to develops business cases to drive business and owner profitability.
  • Technical / functional evaluations of packaging and products (using gauges, design of experiment).
  • Sourcing strategy development and execution (driving functionality, sustainability, supply chain resilience).
  • Supplier Relationship Management.
