The opportunity
Reporting to a Senior Wealth Advisor, the Business Development Associate will focus on building and sustaining relationships with High Net Worth (HNW) and Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients. The associate will identify and develop new business opportunities, execute marketing initiatives and support client base expansion while a Senior Investment Advisor manages the transition and retention of client relationships.
Key responsibilities include :
Client Acquisition
Proactively identify and secure new HNW and UHNW clients through outreach strategies including lead generation, networking, referrals, digital outreach and community events.Research and analyze potential markets and clients to develop effective acquisition strategies.Strategic Marketing & Brand Development
Plan and execute team initiatives including webinars and social media campaigns.Support the Lead Advisor and team by creating compelling marketing content aligned with the team’s values, goals and target audience.Develop, manage and enhance the team’s brand presence across various platforms and channels.Analyze data and metrics to measure the effectiveness of branding efforts and make data-driven decisions.Collaborate with internal teams to enhance brand visibility, ensuring that the team is recognized as a leader in wealth management.Develop customized strategies to sustain and expand pipeline of potential clients.Participate in the creation of strategic plans aimed at driving business growth and increasing market share.Identify marketing strategies to deepen the breadth and depth of brand recognition and messaging, through new and existing channels (e.g. podcasts, webinars, speaking engagements, etc.).Relationship Management
Assist licensed advisors in managing client relationships by responding to inquiries, scheduling appointments, and maintaining client records.Develop and leverage key relationships across corporate partners, including Advisor Marketing, Regional Management, Marketing Compliance, Technology and external vendors.Maintain high levels of client engagement.Strategic Growth
Leverage brand opportunities across various media and charitable relationships, ensuring alignment with core values / messaging.Develop and execute a strategic business development plan to drive revenue growth.Monitor market trends, industry developments and competitor activities to identify new opportunities for client growth.Identify short- and long-term value creation opportunities for targeting HNW and UHNW clients.The ideal candidate will possess :
A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, accounting, finance or related field, or equivalent work experience.Financial service industry experience working in a high growth environment.Marketing and sales experience with a focus on client acquisition.Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.Experience in wealth management or other regulated industry is a strong asset.Current advisors with a small book of business are welcome to apply.Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH) is considered an asset.Professional designation in a financial stream is an asset.Proficiency with the MSOffice suite, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, and Outlook.Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms (i.e. social media, social media management tools, email marketing software, analytical tools, etc.).Highly self-motivated and competitive with a strong drive to generate new business opportunities.Excellent attitude and commitment to providing extraordinary service.Strong critical thinking and written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrate a high level of accountability, reliability, adaptability, and innovation in accomplishing day-to-day work and long-term goals.Commitment to ethical conduct and integrity in all client interactions.Exemplary interpersonal and influencing skills; an ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively, across multiple mediums (in-person, over the phone, and virtually).Excellent problem-solving skills.A high tolerance for ambiguity; highly adaptive and able to manage a large volume of competing priorities.An ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.Eager self-starter with a passion for building relationships and driving growth.Conditions of employment
