The Corporate Accountability and Planning (CAP) Branch supports public accountability and transparency through four units, including Quality Assurance and Accountability (QAA). QAA leads strategic evaluation and performance measurement for the Ministry of ALSS, implementing the Ministry’s Performance Management Framework (PMF) to support data-driven decision-making, planning, and continuous improvement. Through accountability frameworks, QAA ensures consistent performance monitoring and quality assurance across programs, providing assurance to stakeholders that services meet expectations and are effectively managed.
Role Responsibilities
The Corporate Accountability and Planning (CAP) Branch is seeking an enthusiastic evaluation specialist with experience leading, designing, implementing, and coordinating evaluation activities to ensure that evaluation-related activities are undertaken in support of the ALSS Performance Management Framework (PMF) and program-level Accountability Frameworks (AF). The Strategic Evaluation function is responsible for the Ministry’s strategic evaluation schedule and is mandated to establish and maintain a coordinated and consistent approach to evaluation in ALSS, and to lead or support evaluations of the Ministry’s priority initiatives, policies, programs and services. The Analyst, Strategic Evaluation works within a team environment to provide substantial expert advice on evaluation and analysis approaches and, in doing so, works closely with staff throughout the Ministry and other Government of Alberta Departments. This position ensures that sound evaluation methods and approaches are used and ensures that clients’ needs are identified and addressed through proposed evaluation approaches. The position will exercise a high degree of creative problem solving in the application of a wide range of emergent and established evaluation to generate high quality evaluation information. The information will be used to inform senior and executive leaders.
