Fortis Mining, Engineering, & Manufacturing is growing, and we're on the lookout for a passionate, detail-driven Civil / Structural Engineer, whose primary responsibility is to help bring bold industrial and mining solutions to life. In this role, you’ll be part of a skilled engineering team working on projects that span from concept to fabrication, to field installation. What You’ll Be Doing
Tackle a diverse portfolio of projects from initial concepts through to final fabrication and implementationLead engineering estimates, manage design budgets and schedules, and drive technical excellence while maintaining safety and qualityCreate and review technical drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports.Prepare and review technical specifications, equipment lists, calculations, reports, design criteria, and other documentsMaintain and adhere to applicable codes, standards, regulations, and best practices for all projectsSign and Seal all final drawings, specifications, reports, and other documents prepared under your supervisionMentor junior engineers, share your expertise, and help shape the future of the Engineering departmentCoordinate with designers and the Fabrication Team to complete engineering projectsDevelop solutions for issues that arise during Fabrication or ConstructionWhat You Bring to the Table
A degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or a relevant Engineering disciplineProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility through APEGS5+ years of experience in industrial or mining projects would be considered an assetSolid knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)Strong problem-solving skills and a knack for turning complex challenges into practical solutionsStrong organizational skills with attention to detailStrong time management skillsStrong interpersonal skills and a team-focused mindsetAbility to handle competing priorities simultaneously; work well under pressure with time-sensitive deadlinesStrong ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writingProficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook)Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all timesWhat We Offer
