Electrical Estimator
Job Description : Electrical Estimator
Our client is a fire and security contractor located in Toronto facilitating the installation of electrical wiring, fittings, and conduit for commercial and retail buildings through the GTA.
Currently they are looking to hire an Electrical Estimator with a background onsite installing new building systems for fire, power distribution, light fixtures, network, phone, cable, and security system to create accurate bids under $10 million.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to :
Review blueprints to develop material and labor cost estimates for outgoing tenders, roughly 5 to 10 bids completed weekly
Collaborate with engineers, project managers and owners to confirm drawings, documents site specifications and as-built drawings are accurate
Closely work with supplier requests for quotes, and review suppliers’ quotes for creating BOMs
Responsible for projects ranging from $3 million to $10 million in value in the commercial and retail sector in GTA.
Develop relationships and advise electricians on-site to improve installation methods.
Travel to various sites is very minimal
Qualifications :
3 to 5 years experience in electrical design or as an Electrician
Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Project)
Strong familiarity with AutoCAD, Acubid, Excel, Word,
Working knowledge of OESC, CEC, NEC,UL, IEEE, OBC, NFPA, etc
Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and contract documents
Strong communication skills
