About the Senior Manager, Content and Communications role

We're looking for an outstanding Senior Manager, Content and Communications to share Float's story with the market. Reporting to Float's VP Marketing, this role is pivotal in enhancing our brand presence and growth through PR and content initiatives, and establishing a strong rapport with the market and our customers.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills and a proven track record in managing PR and content initiatives for leading brands.

As the Senior Manager, Content and Communications at Float, you'll be responsible for :

Thought leadership . Position Float as a compelling thought leader and disruptor in the Canadian business community through top-of-funnel content that engages our audience across channels.

Develop a comprehensive strategy that highlights the company's expertise and insights, craft compelling narratives that resonate with target audiences, and establish the company as a trusted authority.

External communications : Build Float's awareness and reputation in the Canadian business community through earned media coverage of company announcements, market thought leadership, and our executive team.

Manage media inquiries and proactively pitch newsworthy stories. Collaborate on rapid-response and crisis communications with key stakeholders across multiple departments.

Brand voice and tone : As the communications leader for the marketing team, you will set, refine, and train others on the team to use the right voice and tone that engages prospects and customers.

In addition, you will own the editorial calendar and lead content development in support of :

Content marketing : Create content that grows awareness and organic demand for Float. In partnership with the Head of Growth Marketing, own the editorial calendar, execute and / or manage freelance writers in the production of high-quality blog posts, case studies, videos, and SEO content.

Ensure consistency in brand messaging and tone across all content platforms.

Campaigns and events : Develop engaging content for marketing campaigns and events, ensuring alignment with the objectives.

This includes crafting impactful materials such as event presentations, email campaigns, social media content, and offer materials.

Requirements

You'll be great in this role if :

You are an outstanding writer. You're a storyteller. You love words, and know how to write in a specific brand voice. You are able to craft compelling narratives in a variety of formats and for various distribution channels.

Ideally you have created content for a tech buyer audience. You can self-edit as well as edit others' writing with ease.

  • You know how to create buzz . You have a constant finger on the pulse of current events and business trends and have a track record of turning broader news stories into media opportunities for your brand.
  • You're a builder. You're an adept leader known for starting from scratch and building highly effective content programs that build audiences and directly impact pipeline.
  • You've got the experience. With 5-7 years of content and PR experience, you are familiar with the Canadian media landscape and the types of customers we serve.

Business or financial service experience is an advantage.

You're tenacious and results-driven. You set aggressive goals, and have a reputation for working tenaciously to smash them, not letting anything get in your way.

You have demonstrated your ability to turn communications and content strategies into measurable results.

You're an owner. You set a high bar for yourself and others, and enjoy fostering a culture of excellence. You're eager to roll-up your sleeves to get building and create immediate impact.
