Responsibilities
- Installs, programs & tests a variety of non‑routine building automation systems and equipment; provides training and technical support to customers.
- Reads blueprints, schematics, manuals and specs to determine installation procedures; interprets wiring diagrams and repairs equipment using standard test instruments and hand tools.
- Operates systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, identify malfunctions, and write non‑routine programs.
- Consults with supervisors to resolve unusual problems in system operation, maintenance, and warranty work.
- Advises supervisors regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques, and product improvement suggestions.
- Executes technical aspects of multiple projects : programming, graphics development, start‑up, certification testing, customer training, documentation, and ongoing support.
- Identifies potential project risks, communicates them, and assists in strategy development to minimize impact and keep project schedules and budgets on track.
- Co‑ordinates closely with Project Managers or supervisors, recommends quality improvements, and identifies scope changes.
- Completes accurate and detailed service reports for invoicing and job cost tracking.
- Provides technical support to end users when applicable and seeks guidance from experienced staff or vendors.
- Mentors other staff members by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
- Maintains the highest level of customer service to ensure Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
Qualifications
Exceptional customer focus, ability to work under pressure, and proactive in understanding customer needs.Solid technical skills and experience with electronic security systems.Strong programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems.Self‑starter who works well with general supervision.Mechanical and electrical aptitude; comfortable using hand and power tools.Frequent visits to job sites; minimal overnight travel; valid driver’s license.Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple service needs simultaneously.Proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications.Minimum of 3–5 years BAS project experience.Diploma in Electronics preferred.Industry‑specific certifications such as Schneider, Distech, Alerton, Tridium, Honeywell.Benefits and Perks
