SUMMARY :
General shop duties under supervision including providing assembly assistance, parts cleaning, assisting in shop organization and maintenance.
Great for students arranging flexible hours Mondays to Fridays.
QUALIFICATIONS : Academic :
Academic :
Grade 12 diploma preferred. Courses in mechanical / electrical technology an asset.
Work Experience :
Some mechanical / electrical assembly and / or metal fabrication experience or equivalent preferred. Experience in use of pneumatic tools an asset.
Forklift certification is required.
Other :
Ability to read blueprints, competence in mathematics an asset. Good computer skills an asset. Ability to lift 35 lbs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Assist in organizing, cleaning, pressure washing parts.
- Assist assemblers under supervision.
- Pallet / crate building.
- Crating and packaging for shipping.
- Shop maintenance including general weekly cleaning, organizing, odd jobs.
- Empty recycling bins, change garbage bags, assist with replenishing paper supply if need be.
- Keep an accurate record of time charged to each job.
- Full comprehension of safety requirements.
- Other duties as required.
- English spoken and written comprehension is required.
- Forklift certification is a requirement prior or upon hiring.
Working Hours :
6 : 30AM to 3 : 00PM Monday thru Thursday and 6 : 30AM to 2 : 10PM.
