Hays has partnered with a leading French bank to hire a VP - Controller for a permanent role in Montreal.
Your new role
- Preparation of the Support Functions budget.
- Preparation of monthly results for Support Functions and provide analysismentary on MTD / YTD basis.
- Review of monthly results for CACIB NY, provide expensementary for monthly Finance Close meeting.
- Meet individually on a monthly basis with Support Function Product Line leaders to review results, discuss results / trends and provide updates to Management as needed.
- Key contact for all management reporting issues between Support Functions and Head Office
- Participate in ad-hoc analysis as needed.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor in Accounting or Finance, (preferred Master's degree in Accounting or Finance),
- 5 to 7+ years of experience in an expenses analysis function,
- Ability to analyze and summarize information, to effectively present information to Management, both written and orally, to effectively prioritize, to work autonomously and in groups,
- Capacity to work across different product lines; to build forecasts / budgets, to work under tight deadlines; & multitasking.
- Capacity to manage a small team locally, while reporting to a manager based in New York covering activities in Canada and the US,
- Knowledge of accounting norms and standards (IFRS / US Gaap),
- English is mandatory, French is highly desired.
