Stantec is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our team in Calgary, AB, Canada. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting control systems for water and wastewater treatment projects.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Develop preliminary scope definitions, budgets, and staffing plans.
- Field review and evaluation of existing equipment, control systems (hardware and software) and control panels.
- Prepare studies, conceptual reports, and technical memorandums.
- Conduct I&C engineering and analyses related to water, wastewater, and industrial waste treatment facilities.
- Support multidisciplinary teams with engineering design projects and studies.
Develop construction documents (drawings, specifications, and schedules) including :
Database driven Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's)Detailed network communication architecture diagramsControl panel detailsCCTV and Access Control System drawingsPoint-to-Point Wiring DiagramsInstrument installation detailsDevelop technical specifications, instrument datasheets, and detailed control strategies / narratives.Senior review and evaluation of electrical schematic diagrams and plans.Review and evaluation of mechanical specifications with controls content.Review and evaluation of process flow diagrams and design criteria.Coordinate I&C deliverables with process, mechanical, and electrical disciplines.Construction Support Activities
Review of contractor and supplier submittals.Participate in construction site inspections.Support equipment and control system commissioning, start‑up, and performance testing.Assist with system troubleshooting.Marketing Support Activities (Optional)
Assist marketing team with project pursuit strategies.Develop presentation materials.Participate in presentations.Serve as I&C discipline subject‑matter expert.Your Capabilities and Credentials
Solid interpersonal skills for working in a team environment (virtual or in‑person).Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to convey project I&C needs to project managers and clients.Ability to mentor junior to intermediate staff and work with remotely located project team members.Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.Education and Experience

Pay Range
Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC : Min Salary $128,600.00 – Max Salary $192,900.00Locations in Lower Mainland - BC : Min Salary $136,300.00 – Max Salary $204,500.00Benefits Summary
