Electromechanical Test Lab Engineer (Chassis / BIW) [14250]

We are recruiting an experienced Electromechanical Test Lab Engineer (Chassis / Body-in-White) to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.

NOTE :

Onsite

Must be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start date

Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Fixturing, testing and data collection related to Elastomeric and chassis based vehicle components. Various hydraulic and mechanical testing equipment will be used to meet customer requests
• Work with customers in defining the test request, obtaining buy in from local management for cost, timing, material and headcount requirements
• Reporting and communicating of proper information to affected product, chassis or virtual analysis engineers
• Communicating between customers and local management is critical for developing a testing demand
• Coordinate and instruct bargaining unit mechanics in performing part changeovers, test setups and fixture fabrication
• Working collaboratively with the mechanic supervisor, union, management, maintenance and facilities teams
• Departmental activities will include taking and analyzing test data, compiling report, tracking equipment downtime and analyzing data fidelity

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS :

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Automotive / Material Engineering required from an accredited university
• Knowledge of vehicle body, chassis, and suspensions systems
• Knowledge of fixture design and manufacturing processes
• Data processing
• Competent with the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VBA
• Strong time management, leadership, planning and follow up skills
• Excellent written and oral skills

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS :

• Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience within a testing environment within the automotive industry
• Experience in paint and corrosion evaluation
• Experience working in a unionized environment
• MTS software experience

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS :

• $33.00 - $37.00 / hour (depending on experience)
• Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
• Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)
