We are recruiting an experienced Electromechanical Test Lab Engineer (Chassis / Body-in-White) to join our team to support our client in the automotive industry.

OnsiteMust be willing and able to travel to the USA, without restrictions, effective on the start dateValid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving recordRESPONSIBILITIES :
- Fixturing, testing and data collection related to Elastomeric and chassis based vehicle components. Various hydraulic and mechanical testing equipment will be used to meet customer requests
- Work with customers in defining the test request, obtaining buy in from local management for cost, timing, material and headcount requirements
- Reporting and communicating of proper information to affected product, chassis or virtual analysis engineers
- Communicating between customers and local management is critical for developing a testing demand
- Coordinate and instruct bargaining unit mechanics in performing part changeovers, test setups and fixture fabrication
- Working collaboratively with the mechanic supervisor, union, management, maintenance and facilities teams
- Departmental activities will include taking and analyzing test data, compiling report, tracking equipment downtime and analyzing data fidelity
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical / Electrical / Automotive / Material Engineering required from an accredited university
- Knowledge of vehicle body, chassis, and suspensions systems
- Knowledge of fixture design and manufacturing processes
- Data processing
- Competent with the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VBA
- Strong time management, leadership, planning and follow up skills
- Excellent written and oral skills
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS :
- Minimum of 1 year of engineering experience within a testing environment within the automotive industry
- Experience in paint and corrosion evaluation
- Experience working in a unionized environment
- MTS software experience
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS :
- $33.00 - $37.00 / hour (depending on experience)
- Paid Benefits after 90 days (individual and family) – extended medical, out-of-country coverage, dental etc.
- Pension eligibility, with employer match, after 1 full year of work (open enrollment every October)
