What you’ll do

It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role :

  • Leads fixture purchasing operations including overseeing the planning and implementation for new stores, relocations, renovations, store base replenishments including new initiatives for all banners (Winners, HomeSense, Marshalls) across Canada
  • Lead new fixture development process including partnering with vendors to review needs and develop solutions based on vision obtained from initiative driver; develop fixture concepts, samples and or prototypes to review specifications Senior Management for approval
  • Manage the research and analysis created regarding new sources and products; keeping abreast of product innovations, new products, and price trends, which directly may impact selection of vendors and products; ensures best practices are followed
  • Responsible for vendor management and performance including researching new vendors, reviewing contracts, maintaining and improving customer service relationships and service levels with vendors
  • Collaborate with internal departments as well as external vendors ( Contractors, Suppliers, Store Design, Construction, Marketing, Store Operations Merchandise) to ensure requirements are accurately communicated within project timeline; source and manage fixture suppliers and installers overseeing quality control throughout all aspects of the process to maximize productivity and value to organization
  • Develop, execute and maintain store fixture budgets for all capital initiatives in accordance with Corporate Capital Plan includes ensuring fixture commitments and inventories meet Company needs
  • Monitor inventory and pricing information to report on actual costs and inventory against plan through use of database systems and vendor reports, prepares rolling forecast and other projections as required; minimize write off exposure by overseeing maintenance of Fixture Inventory database
  • Coach and mentor Fixture Purchasing team to improve knowledge of fixture purchasing activities and responsibilities
  • What you’ll need

    To begin your career with us, we require the following :

  • 5 to 8 years demonstrated experience in managing purchasing and store fixturing is required
  • Post-secondary education in Business Management, PMAC designation preferred
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a related managerial role
  • Strong knowledge of purchasing techniques / practices and ethics
  • Superior analytical skills, particularly in the area of inventory analysis and budgeting
  • Solid project management skills including structured project methodology ( determining needs, researching existing programs, etc.); preparing and maintaining detailed development plans for projects; determining project specifications; understanding and applying principles of project control; and knowledge of and ability to use project reporting systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills developing relationships with other TJX Canada departments, contractors and vendors
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and research skills to identify problems, cost implications and develop solutions fixture requirements; description of problems
  • Demonstrated strong management skills including organizational skills; interviewing skills; facilitation, negotiating skills, interpersonal skills including conflict management; and information gathering including active listening skills
  • Thoughtful leadership skills with the ability to act as a collaborative partner with senior management and positively influence management and staff to act in the best interest of the Company
  • People management skills including coaching, providing advice and guidance to associates in the resolution of problems; evaluating performance and providing feedback to team members
  • General computer skills including Word, Excel, Microsoft Office, Power Point, Basic knowledge and E sourcing tools with AS400 familiarity
  • Salary Range : $106,590 - $161,364
