ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in supporting clients by delivering compassionate, person-centered nursing care in a community-based residential setting. Working within an interdisciplinary team, you will contribute to recovery-focused treatment planning, health monitoring, and supportive interventions that empower clients to live meaningful lives in the community.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

• Certificate of Registration with the Ontario College of Nurses (CNO)
• Current CPR certification
• Demonstrated experience in mental health nursing
• Experience providing care in a community-based setting to individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness

Skills/Abilities:

• Proven leadership abilities and team coordination skills
• Proficiency in nursing assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Advanced communication skills, both written and interpersonal, with the ability to foster therapeutic relationships
• Evidence of continuing professional development experience
• Strong knowledge of psychiatric illnesses, treatment approaches, and relevant legislation (MHA, HCCA, OH&S, PHIPA)

• Understanding of Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR), recovery principles, least restraint practices, and the safe use of safety devices

• Familiarity with nursing practice standards, professional guidelines, and evidence-based practices in serious mental illness

• Ability to collaborate effectively as a member of an interprofessional team
• Capability to meet the physical demands of the role
• Demonstrated regular attendance at work

Asset:

• Additional training/certification in working with addiction/mental health issues an asset

Conditions of Employment:

• This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
• Valid Ontario driver's license: Class G
