AFIMAC Canada is actively hiring experienced Machinist-Welder for an upcoming assignment in the GTA. This position will require you to work 8.

5 hour shifts, 5 -7 days per week when assigned to a project.

Please note this is a temporary contract position, so it may not be suitable to someone currently working full time

You will earn :

  • $36 per hour
  • $30 per day non-taxed meal allowance (when lodging is required)
  • Paid Travel (up to 4 hours)
  • Hotel Accommodations Provided (when required)

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Produce moulds, machined / fabricated parts
  • Welding and brazing as required
  • Cut, drill, ream, bore, polish, deburr and grind aluminium parts.
  • Tool grinding according to customized requirements
  • Clean, fit, drill and assemble tools
  • Assist with general maintenance and cleaning of machines
  • Handle cleaning, fitting, drilling and assembling of the tools
  • Build crates and pack tools for shipment
  • Lift and relocate materials as required.
  • Working knowledge of lock out / tag out
  • Knowledge of 5S work environment

Skills & Qualifications :

  • Ontario Machinist Certification
  • Min 2 years experience in machine shop
  • Experience with fabrication for making thermoforming mounds or similar applications
  • Strong working knowledge of tooling machinery - eg. Milling Machines, Lathes
  • Able to read and interpret blue prints
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, technical and communication skills
  • Fluent command of the English language (both written and verbal)
