Program Manager - IT
Job Description
The Program Manager plays a key role in leading innovative, transformative efforts of significant importance for Acosta. The incumbent demonstrates deep skills in coordinating across multiple teams to achieve far reaching business objectives to drive significant return for Acosta.
He or she is effective in working across organizational boundaries, gaining the cooperation and support of diverse stakeholders to define and achieve the overarching business objectives.
The Program Manager will manage multiple medium to large scale initiatives and ensure the end product meets the defined business objectives.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions of this Position
- Overall management of the strategic initiative to achieve the stated business objective, within the appropriate scope, schedule, and budget boundaries.
- Planning and designing of the initiative and ensuring delivery through the product and development teams
- Forecasting and planning of resource requirements as needed
- Adhering to and supporting Portfolio Governance
- Proactive monitoring of progress, risks, and issues
- Management of the work of cross-functional teams toward delivery against initiative objectives
- Reporting of initiative progress to team members, sponsors, stakeholders, and executives
- Coordinating across the various product and development teams, ensuring they meet their commitments and have all blockers removed
- Primary connection points are business and IT leaders, Product Owners, Business Analysts and Scrum Masters
- This role crosses product boundaries (Retail, HQ, Finance, IT, Infrastructure, etc.) but is within a defined scope
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor's Degree (Information Technology)
- Some work experience may be substituted for some of the above education
- PMP certification is preferred
Ten years' professional experience with a combination of the following :
- Project and Program Management of Financial Management, Technology Delivery, Business Process Improvement and / or Business Transformation projects
- Cross group collaboration and large group meeting facilitation
- Formal presentation to large audiences, including senior leadership
- Data gathering, analysis and reporting
- Driving adoption of improved processes and methods within and outside direct team
- Experience with Project Portfolio Management Tools, Time Tracking and Resource Management
- Experience with online Product Development Tools e.g., Jira, Kanban Boards
- Industry experience in Retail, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Logistics, preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements
- Knowledgeable in process improvement and financial management
- Knowledgeable in Project and Program management across the different methodologies
- Able to lead cross functional teams spanning organizational boundaries, motivating, and gaining the cooperation and support of diverse stakeholders to accomplish the stated goals
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong leadership, people and analytical skills are required, such as : problem solving, decision making, negotiation, acting with integrity and respect for others, professional impartiality, client service orientation, personal time management and ability to achieve success through exercise of influence
- Advanced expertise in MS Project and MS Project Server, or similar tools, is preferred
