Posted : Friday, January 9, 2026 Application Deadline : Friday, January 30, 2026 at 11 : 59 pm The Opportunity The Information Technology Department provides information technology expertise and professional services to all City departments, affiliated agencies (Barrie Public Library, Barrie Police Services) and area municipalities receiving Barrie fire dispatch services. The Department is responsible for delivering, administering, managing and supporting (in partnership with the business units) all data and voice communications, including but not limited to network infrastructure, servers, storage infrastructure, printers, computing infrastructure, applications and software, databases, web services, geographic information systems, and project and portfolio management. The Department provides daily technology support to over 1100 users at more than 40 City locations across the City. The Systems Analyst (SAP Basis) position is responsible for developing, administering, securing, supporting and providing problem resolution for the City's SAP applications. Through development and implementation of technology solutions the Systems Analyst (SAP Basis) ensures the Corporation is effectively and efficiently using its information system applications to align with corporate and departmental needs while building positive working relationships with staff, customers, other municipalities, agencies and vendors. Experience
Five (5) years of experience performing duties related to the above mentioned major responsibilities
Demonstrated experience in an information technology portfolio developing, supporting, and managing business systems
Demonstrated experience in disaster recovery, high availability, virtualization and mobile technologies
Knowledge / Skill / Ability
Demonstrated Ability to : think and work collaboratively forming working relationships with both internal and external groups

relationship

Intermediate computer literacy using the following systems and software : Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); Microsoft technologies including but not limited to IIS, .NET, Visual Studio, SharePoint, SQL; and the Internet
Availability, on a rotational basis, to assist with after-hours questions, concerns, or emergencies; to attend evening / weekend meetings or special events; or to work outside of designated normal hours per week
Conditions of Employment
Valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s Licence in good standing with a reliable vehicle for use on corporate business
