Organizational Description
Alzheimer Society of Manitoba helps all Manitobans affected by dementia. What started as a grassroots movement over 35 years ago is now an organization that has developed into the leading resource for families living with the disease. The Society provides programs and services to enhance the quality of life for those affected. The aim is to bring dignity, inclusion, respect and acceptance into the lives of people with dementia and their care partners., there are over 18,400 Manitobans living with dementia. The Society offers : supportive counselling, caregiver and professional education, support groups for people living with dementia and for their care partners, public awareness, the First Link program, Minds in Motion program, research funding and more. The Society is a prominent voice in advocating for change within all levels of government.

Description of Duties
The Alzheimer Society of Manitoba provides various program opportunities, other than the Minds in Motion program, that require volunteer support. This can look like making coffee, setting up a program space, facilitating conversations, and engaging with people in the dementia community.
