Overview
Corpay is currently looking to hire a Manager, Software Development within our PayByPhone division. This position falls under our International Fleet line of business and is located in Vancouver, Canada. In this role your primary focus is leading and supporting your team of creators to deliver a world-class experience based on our PayByPhone platform. You won’t be primarily hands-on and writing code - instead, you’ll bring your technical background and desire to understand the technical aspects of the product to help remove any blockers and continue to grow and scale your team. You’ll be an excellent recruiter, a highly skilled communicator, a great issue resolver, and an organizer of your people.

Role Responsibilities
Planning, releasing, and scheduling development, working closely with Product Management to determine scope and ensure that features meet requirementsProviding estimates and initial assessment for proposed development tasksTracking and reporting progress of the project against key milestones and keeping feature stakeholders updated to ensure on-time and high-quality deliveryCoordinating cross-functionally across various teams / organizations both internal and external driving product development effortsManaging (delegating where appropriate) the team’s backlog, triaging new tickets including defects, ensuring the quality of requirements and acceptance criteria meets company guidelinesServing as the team’s Scrum Master (delegate where appropriate), breaking down roadblocks and managing communications with stakeholders and dependent teamsBeing accountable for the outcome of all technical design and architecture discussions within the team; balancing team / service needs with platform development and time-critical business needsEnsuring the team’s software and technology adheres to development, operational, and budget guidelinesOwning, operating, and maintaining the team’s services and instituting / maintaining a rotating on-call incident escalation and response processCreating a culture of continuous improvementSourcing, interviewing, and closing technology candidatesUpdating and improving the software development onboarding process and documentationCreating a continuous performance culture to establish growth and development of team members through regular 1-on-1s, performance & development reviews, objective setting, and feedbackEnabling and empowering people to do their best work in a collaborative and innovative environmentKeeping up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies to ensure best practices for quality software development and testing methodologiesYou must maintain a personal data plan to fulfill your responsibilities for on-call supportQualifications & Skills
7+ years of industry experience; education (post-secondary, certification, etc.)Relevant degree in Computer Science or equivalentExperience as a software development manager or software team leader in an Agile development environmentExperience in a global SaaS organization with understanding of architectural conceptsExperience working with legacy code and / or greenfield replacementsPast experience as a developerAble to capture requirements and write high-quality acceptance criteriaUnderstanding of production environments for team applications and their collaboratorsService-level design and documentationExperience leading a team of creators focusing on core technology featuresExperience working with cross-functional teams to deliver complex featuresExcellent people management skills, including appraisals, objective setting, and collaboration with Talent AcquisitionCompensation
The salary range for this role is $130K CAD - $160K CAD annually. We consider several factors when determining a proposed salary, including experience, education, location, budget, and internal equity. Our compensation philosophy emphasizes fairness and consistency; offers are evaluated case-by-case.
