Job descriptionMaintaining a safe working environment at all times Providing excellent and consistent service for all guests using the KDR facilities Maintaining a clean and organized workstation throughout the shift Preparing all hot and cold items required for the daily bagged lunch program. Items include, but are not limited to : Deli and specialty sandwiches as per daily production requirementsAll preparations required for each day’s production (compounds such as egg salad or cooked items used for specialty sandwiches)Other required menu items as directed Ensuring that food safety requirements are being followed Completing all HACCP and Production logs as required Labelling and dating of all products prepared for service as required Removing all used pots, pans, utensils, etc., to ware washing area Performing end-of-shift cleaning, sweeping, and mopping of workstation Completing all weekly and monthly cleaning tasks as scheduled Removing garbage from workstation as required Receiving and storing all supplies (food, beverage, chemical and paper / disposable) Assisting with any other tasks as assigned by supervisor Current Food Safe certification is required Large-scale cooking in camp settings, banquet halls and / or hotels is a strong asset Previous experience in a sandwich maker role at a mass-production level is preferred Ability to commit to a 4 week on / 2 week off rotation A team-player who is committed to providing client satisfaction Be able to handle the following physical demands : Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbsClimb ladders or stairsStand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of timePerform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both handsPerform work with arms at full lengthWork with arms above shoulder height
Job Description
WHAT'S THE JOB?
The Sandwich Maker is an integral member of the culinary team. Working night shifts, the Sandwich Maker prepares a wide variety of sandwich and specialty items to fulfill the bagged lunch program. The Sandwich Maker will work with culinary leads to present attractive and well-prepared products each day.
The position involves a remote work lifestyle in a Nunavut camp setting with the following amenities :
- All meals and accommodations are provided
- Travel is provided to and from the site locations from a designated hub location in Edmonton, AB
- Private room with cable television
- Access to Wi-Fi
- Access to laundry facilities and detergents
- Access to a gym and common areas
