Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Planning Governance Specialist.

The Planning Governance Specialist will be one of several team members responsible for managing ISI Planning's governance framework.

The ISI Planning function includes ISI's Scheduling, Planning, Production Engineering, and Industrial Engineering departments reporting to VP Planning.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English.

Qualifications :

Education : Bachelors' degree with a focus on business administration, accounting, finance, engineering, or project management.

oCertified Associate of Project Management (CAPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) an asset.

  • Experience : 4 years or more experience in shipbuilding or related area.
  • Experience in quality management, quality assurance, and / or process development and management. Experience specifically with ISO 9001 an asset.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with experience presenting to large groups.
  • Aptitude for computer software and a willingness to learn, use, and develop new software tools.
  • Good technical and business aptitude, fast learner, and effective problem solver.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.

S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities :

  • Support the development, confirmation, and maintenance of function and department processes, policies, and toolsets.
  • Execute internal evaluations of process and policy adherence and collect feedback from internal stakeholders.
  • Support the function leadership in strategic and / or improvement initiatives.
  • Report on personal performance and the function's quality metrics and framework adherence / effectiveness to leaders.
  • Support functional team members in understanding and implementing the governance framework.
