Palliative Care Physician (300-1023) (Permanent Specialty)

The Palliative Care Physician Group in Island Health have a part-time permanent position available for a palliative care physician in Comox BC able to work in a variety of clinical settings including hospital, community home visits and a local hospice.

Description of role :

It will include :

• Provision of palliative care consults at Comox Valley Hospital and the local 6 bed hospice at Aitken Hospice at Oceanfront Village
• Provision of outpatient and home visit palliative care consults in the Comox Valley region including occasional outreach to outlying communities (driver’s license and car are required)
• Participation in the rural & remote palliative care on-call schedule
• Teaching and supervision of medical learners (requires eligibility for faculty appointment with UBC)

Benefits

May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary agreement. Benefits are pro-rated based on FTE.
