Reporting to the Senior Director, Imports, the National Marketing Manager is responsible for leading, developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies for their assigned clients / brands nationally.
Experience within the confectionary and / or high impulse categories will be a significant asset. The incumbent is expected to become the Canadian Expert on the assigned categories, and will work closely with our national broker partners, clients, and customers across the country.
Effectively lead and execute on setting and delivering against annual global sales targets, managing sales and marketing budgets, forecasting, overseeing inventory and logistic management, and brand profitability.
- At least 5 years experience successfully managing brand(s) within CPG is essential
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian retail grocery, mass merchandisers and drug Industry is essential
- Must have experience working with brokers and distributors.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of assigned brands through building and implementing annual sales and marketing plans
- Create and manage client / brand P&L
- Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with our national broker partner, clients, and customers
- Develop annual financial budget for assigned brands.
- Deliver profitable volume for assigned brands
- Brand franchise building through the effective management of all aspect of the market mix within the Canadian market
- Manage all trade spend for assigned brands for all customers
- Work collaboratively with client / brand development managers across the country, providing budgets and tools to achieve
- Work closely with logistics team to ensure cost efficiencies and appropriate service levels
- Work closely with financial team to ensure accurate and timely information
- Manage inventory levels to ensure appropriate levels are maintained
- Keeps current on market conditions within relevant categories in the Canadian market, recognise and communicate trends to ensure we are on the forefront of the category
- Travel to relevant regional, national and international trade / consumer shows as may be required
- Foster and maintain excellent relationships with co-workers, customers and vendors

Education and Experience
- Marketing or related degree
- At least 5 years experience successfully managing brand(s) within CPG is essential

- Must have experience working with brokers and distributors.

Travel
