About This Opportunity

A clinic in the Clayton Park area is looking for a Family Physician to join its professionally managed clinic. This clinic is centrally located and is conveniently nested within a residential area with a short commute to schools, stores and shopping centers.

There is currently one physician in the clinic and a Family Practice Nurse whose services are equally shared amongst physicians.

This role may come with an existing patient roster of 1200 to 1400 patients.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

• Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
• Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners’
• Act as a patient’s advocate
• Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
• Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements

Expected Hours

Full-time, 1.0FTE

Qualifications

• Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
