Description This position is part of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA). The successful candidate will be offered a tenured or tenure‑track appointment with the rank of Assistant Professor. The role is in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, focusing on applying machine learning to advanced manufacturing, design of multifunctional materials, high‑throughput manufacturing, digital twin, hybrid manufacturing, and experimental or computational mechanics for advanced structural materials.
The applicant must be able to teach broadly in the undergraduate mechanical engineering program. Exceptional candidates in closely related areas or at the rank of Associate Professor may be considered.
Responsibilities include teaching, research, and service :
Licensure as a Professional Engineer is required. Licensure must be obtained within five years of hire date.
