Langley City is seeking a Casual Summer Day Camps Coordinator to join the Recreation, Culture and Community Services Department. The Summer Day Camps Coordinator will develop, implement, and supervise a diverse variety of summer day camp programming for children ages 5-18 years. Reporting to the Recreation Programmer, this position will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of camp activities, daily program support, purchasing supplies, administrative and record‑keeping duties, assisting in day camp orientation and training, and will provide daily direction to Senior and Junior day camp leaders. The casual assignment begins June 8, 2026, and ends September 11, 2026.
Rate of pay : $27.50 - $29.38 per hour (2024 CUPE rates).
Hours of work : Up to 40 hours per week.
Casual employees are paid 12.5% of their regular earnings in lieu of benefits and paid annual vacation.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Completion of post‑secondary courses related to Recreation or Child Development, and HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development certification are desired. A valid Emergency First Aid Certificate and a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence are required.
