We are seeking an Accounting Technician at our Aurora location. This role requires on-site presence three days a week—Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

Primary responsibilities include resolving costing discrepancies, completing all costing after receiving the docket from Planners, ensuring accurate and timely job costing for invoicing, maintaining work in process on a current basis, and assisting the Controller and Accounting Manager with month‑end related duties.

This position is a replacement due to an internal transfer, promotion, or departure.

Salary range: $50,000 – $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and internal equity.

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

Review all jobs to ensure reasonable costs exist for prep time, press time, finishing, shipping, plates, inks, paper, and outside work.

Conduct 3-way Match and ensure costed jobs are audit complaint.

Research discrepancies in costs and discuss with various department managers & project managers.

Ensure selling price accuracy in system.

Assist Data/Costing Clerk with day to day costing issues as required.

Reconcile freight invoices against project & upload the cost to ERP.

Participate in quarterly & monthly inventory counts.

Ad‑hoc requests such as entering Time Sheets into ERP etc.

Other

• Analysis and support, as required (e.g., Create & circulate Production reports).
• Prepare the weekly, monthly KPA & metrics reports if required.
• Maintain quality standards as per written or verbal instructions and follow all SOPs applicable to the work assigned.
• Work as part of a team, follow and adhere to Transcontinental’s code of ethics and participate in Continuous Improvements efforts.
• Fully understand and adhere to all relevant Environmental, Health and Safety, Human Resources, Continuous Improvement, Security and Company policies and procedures.
• Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario, the Workplace Safety Insurance Act and all other applicable legislated environmental, health & safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Post secondary education along with a minimum of two (2) years accounting experience.
• Knowledge of accounting and controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
