As an Intermediate Environmental Project Manager, you will join our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team.

The successful applicant will have a 100% office-based role and involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows :

  • Actively participate and drive Matrix’s strong safety culture
  • Support simple to moderately complex ARRM projects
  • Ensure internal communication and collaboration to facilitate delivery of high-quality products to meet our clients’ unique project needs
  • Manage project scopes, schedules and budgets
  • Coordinate with internal project teams across disciplines, including engineers, hydrogeologists, soil scientists and ecologists
  • Communicate with clients and project related stakeholders
  • Manage client communications and expectations
  • Prepare technical correspondence, proposals, work plans and cost estimates
  • Function effectively within and contribute to the success of a collaborative team
  • Proactively engage and participate in development opportunities and your career growth
  • Mentor and develop junior staff members
  • What Are We Looking For :

  • Technical diploma or degree in environmental science, project management or a related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years’ previous project management experience
  • Project management experience in ARRM projects in Western Canada or familiarity with the Oil & Gas industry would be considered an asset
  • Experience with Workday software would be an asset
  • Experience managing client relationships
  • Eligibility for registration in or a member in good standing of a professional organization would be considered an asset
  • Familiarity with preparing work plans, cost estimates and scopes of work
  • Self-motivated and possess strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Detail orientated, possess good organizational skills and have the ability to prioritize
  • Willingness to provide direction and mentorship to more junior professionals
  • A valid and clean class 5 driver’s license with no restrictions
