Electrical Engineer – Wood
Join us as an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer in Edmonton, AB. We are looking for a professional who can help design and advance electrical systems for our growing Oil & Gas Canada team. This hybrid role allows flexible on-site and remote work.
The Role
This role will support electrical engineering design and execution across a variety of greenfield and brownfield projects. You will serve as the Professional of Record on projects, preparing power system studies, and providing technical leadership for equipment specification, construction packages, and interdisciplinary coordination.

Provide electrical engineering support for bio-based industrial projects.Lead discipline scope on small projects and electrical packages on large projects.Act as the electrical Professional of Record on assigned projects.Coordinate design with other engineering disciplines.Develop design deliverables including single lines, layouts, schematics, grounding, cable routing, and equipment specifications.Prepare and conduct power system studies including arc flash, load flow, short circuit, and protection coordination.Specify and evaluate major electrical equipment including switchgear, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, and motors.Create construction packages, IFC drawings, material lists, and estimates.Identify scope and schedule changes and assist with change management.Conduct checking and independent review of discipline work.Provide mentorship to junior team members.Support construction and commissioning activities as needed.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.Registered member of APEGA or other Canadian Association.Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience.Electrical design experience.Teamwork, analytical and problem‑solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in high, medium, and low voltage power distribution design.Familiarity with electrical safety and code compliance requirements.About Us
