We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic HR Generalist to join our MDPI Toronto office. This stand-alone role will be an integral part of our regional HR team, reporting directly to the HR Manager Europe & North America. This role is crucial in supporting the office's growth and ensuring smooth HR operations, including recruitment and payroll management in collaboration with our outsourced payroll partner.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Recruitment : Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding new employees. Work closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and ensure the timely hiring of qualified candidates.
- Payroll Management : Coordinate with the outsourced payroll partner to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. Handle payroll-related queries and ensure compliance with local payroll regulations.
- Employee Relations : Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits. Address and resolve employee concerns and issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and advise management on necessary actions.
- Performance Management : Assist in the development and implementation of performance management processes. Support managers in conducting performance reviews and managing employee development plans.
- HR Administration : Maintain employee records, prepare HR reports, and manage HR documentation. Oversee employee benefits administration and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Training and Development : Identify training needs and coordinate training programs to enhance employee skills and performance. Promote continuous learning and professional development within the office.
- HR Projects : Participate in regional HR projects and initiatives as required. Collaborate with the regional HR team to align local HR practices with global HR strategies.
Requirements
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role or similar, including recruitment and payroll preferably in a stand-alone position.Knowledge : Strong understanding of Canadian labor laws and HR best practices. Familiarity with payroll processes and collaboration with payroll providers.Skills : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Knowledge of HR systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Attributes : Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.Certification : CHRP or CHRL designation is preferred but not required.What we offer
