Our Calgary Client is looking for an IT Program / Project Manager to join their team.
Must Have Primary Skills
- 10+ years in IT project / program management with proven delivery under tight timelines.
- A degree or diploma in Computer Science would be considered an asset.
- Strong vendor management (SOWs, change control, acceptance).
- Demonstrated dependency and cutover management in multi‑project environments.
- Excellent communication; executive reporting; conflict resolution.
- Familiarity with Agile delivery and service transition
Nice To Have Secondary Skills
PMP / PRINCE2 is preferred.
Proven Experience In
Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Programs and Enterprise Delivery, the temporary Senior IT Project Manager requires strong coordination and vendor management to navigate multiple inter‑project dependencies.
This role is focused on near‑term delivery and stabilization. You will deliver agreed operational projects to production, coordinate vendors and internal teams to resolve cross‑project dependencies and sequencing, establish a lightweight operating cadence (stand‑ups, RAID, decision log) tailored to the accelerated timeline and de‑risk cutover and ensure handover to operations with clear run‑books and Service Level Agreements.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and manage an integrated schedule across all in‑scope operational projects in our IT Operations unit, highlighting dependencies, critical path, and resource constraints.Own vendor management activities : statements of work, deliverable acceptance, change requests, and escalation.Facilitate requirements clarification and acceptance criteria for short‑horizon deliverables; ensure traceability to readiness and go‑live criteria.Stand up and run core governance : weekly status, RAID management, and decision forums; maintain a single source of truth.Coordinate with IT service owners for environments, access, and change windows; align with release management and CAB.Lead cutover planning for each project : run‑books, back‑out plans, resourcing, communications, and hyper‑care.Measure progress and value delivery; provide executive‑ready updates and risk mitigation options.Experience In
At least 10 years of experience with / in IT Project Manager.
Experience with at least 10 years of experience with / in Agile & Waterfall Methodologies.
