Opportunity Details
Schedule : Monday to Friday – Hours : 3 : 00 PM to 12 : 00 midnight and Saturday when required (hours vary depending on business needs)
Salary : $54,900 – $72,700; bonus eligible up to 12% of base for maximum performance.
Position Summary
Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure execution of daily tasks and activities including loading / unloading of trailers, cross‑docking, and customer service operations in a manner consistent with company services and cost objectives. Supervise most processes directly including workforce and equipment scheduling. Responsible for corrective action and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level. Involved in hiring and customer meetings as necessary.
Major Responsibilities
- Establish and sustain that all supervisors and associates are trained, competent, and understand how their work relates to customers’ business objectives.
- Communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable.
- Interview hourly associates and recommend hires.
- Monitor attendance, productivity, and other standards; provide coaching and counseling.
- Motivate and engage associates by focusing on team accomplishments and recognition.
- Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading / unloading, dispatch, and documentation.
- Conduct team meetings and recommend changes to improve productivity.
- Provide relief coverage when associates utilize time‑off or are absent.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure day‑to‑day safety compliance and conduct safety observations.
- Plan work assignments to use equipment effectively and maintain equipment with vendors.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
2–4 years related functional experience.High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.Strong written and oral communication; active listening required.Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Ownership & responsibility to run the operation with urgency.Ability to build rapport with associates and external customers at all levels.Efficient time management and organizational skills.Problem‑solving and independent decision making.Drive process improvement and lead change.Experience with inventory management system preferred.Full attendance required.Willingness to travel as necessary, work required schedule, and complete reference verification.Physical Requirements
Lifting up to 25 lbs / 12 kg occasionally.Stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms.Read, communicate verbally and in writing; remember and analyze information.Specific vision abilities required : close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and focus adjustment.Penske Logistics
