MaKami College’s 10-month (900 hour) Medical Office Assistant certificate program at our Edmonton and Calgary locations is offered in a blended online and in-person format. The medical office assistant courses include online theory courses and in-class components, making it easy to balance school with your family and life.

About the Medical Office Assistant Certificate Program

MaKami’s unique Medical Office Assistant program is based on a case study format. On your first day of school, you are “hired” as a medical office assistant in a mock company. You will have imaginary clients, co-workers, tasks, and assignments, giving you the edge to hit the ground running when you graduate!

Using the latest technology, all students will be provided with a laptop for their studies, fully loaded with their program curriculum. MOA certificate students spend the first four months mastering basic office administrative functions and then transition into developing healthcare-specific skills.

• Medical office scheduling and billing software
• Infection prevention and control strategies

In the last month of the program, students will gain real-life experience with 160 hours of practicum training that can be included in your resume.
