Job Description
We are on the lookout for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our teams in either Saskatoon or Regina . You are experienced in leading studies, doing reports and assessments, and doing preliminary and detailed design.
In this role, you will be preparing specifications, developing cost estimates, and completing the inspection on mechanical systems.
You will also be involved in the design and preparation of tender documents for mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems, piping, and material handling systems.
Reporting to the Manager of the Mechanical Group, you will be joining a dynamic, high-performance team working on industrial, commercial, institutional, and public buildings, water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and piping and conveying systems.
What you will be doing :
- Leading studies, and doing reports and assessments
- Doing preliminary and detailed design
- Preparing specifications
- Completing the inspection on mechanical systems
- Designing and preparing tender documents for mechanical systems
- Mentoring junior members of our team
- Conducting field inspections and working with contractors
You will be based out of Saskatoon or Regina, depending on the home location of the successful candidate.
Job Requirements
What you will bring :
- Undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution
- Registered as a Professional Engineer with APEGS
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
- Experience on industrial, commercial, institutional, and municipal projects
- Experience in the preparation of proposals, project plans, and estimates
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, such as the National Plumbing Code, ASHRAE, and NFPA Standards and NBC
- Excellent organizational skills
- Committed team player
- Highly self-motivated and self-starter with leadership skills
- Experience conducting field inspections and / or working with contractors is an asset
- Experience in construction, start-up, and commissioning of mechanical systems is an asset
- Familiarity with sustainable design practises and LEED accreditation is an asset
- Knowledge of electrical and structural systems is an asset
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
- Ability to travel within Saskatchewan
