We are currently looking for an experienced Office Administrator to join and support our Mississauga clinic! The Office Administrator is responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the clinic runs smoothly for both patients and staff.
The Office Administrator works closely with the Clinic Manager and exercises judgment and independence in the performance of secretarial activities.
The principal responsibilities include :
- Maintaining written and / or electronic calendar / schedule for clinical activity
- Administering and monitoring billing procedures and departmental budgeting records
- Performing clerical support functions
- Ensuring efficient operation of the office, within the scope of authority
- Modifying and maintaining electronic and paper information filing / retrieval methods, systems and / or formats
- Providing functional supervision to junior clerical staff
- Performing cross-functional responsibilities and other duties consistent with the job classification, as required
Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized post-secondary office administration program at the diploma level or equivalent
- Three (3) years or more of related experience required
- Previous on-the-job word processing and spreadsheet experience required; experience working in a Microsoft Office software environment an asset
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Experience working in a health care environment an asset
- Very good organizational and time management skills required
- Very good interpersonal and customer service skills required
- Very good verbal and written communications skills required
- Good knowledge of health care, organizational / office practices, procedures and standards required
- Ability to produce high quality work in accordance with Altum standards required
- Ability to maintain confidentiality required
- Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations required
- Knowledge of medical terminology an asset
