Town of Coaldale- Recreation Operator (Part-Time)

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Recreation Part-Time Operator carries out maintenance, set-up and security duties primarily associated with the New Community Recreation Centre.

Some interdepartmental overlap of tasks at other locations may be necessary. Shift work is a requirement of this position.

The majority of shifts filled by the Park Time Operator will be weeknight and weekend work.

JOB DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Assist in the operation and maintenance of Town recreation facilities on a regular basis.
• Carry out maintenance responsibilities for the New Community Recreation Centre.
• Assist in the supervision of the New Community Recreation Centre, including site security, minor repairs, standard maintenance procedures and related equipment maintenance.
• Ensure recreation facilities, grounds and equipment are cleaned on a regular basis.
• Operate equipment as needed or directed.
• Adhere to Town safety regulations and procedures.
• Identify and report safety concerns or hazards that are encountered in Town facilities.
• Perform other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Class 5 Operator’s License.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team.

Considered Assets

• High School Diploma.
• Relatable work experience in facility maintenance, security and / or recreation programming.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Moderate amounts of physical effort including bending, lifting, and walking.
• Use and operation of a variety of equipment including : trucks, Auto Scrubbers etc.
• Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs. may be required.

• Ensure all operations are performed in a safe manner and in accordance with the Town of Coaldale policies, as well as the law as set forth by Alberta’s Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at all times as per safe job procedures.
