Join to apply for the Game Designer role at Electronic Arts (EA)

We are looking for an experienced Game Designer to join our New Games team in North America.

Description & Requirements

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. Here, everyone is part of the story. Part of a community that connects across the globe. A place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

Pogo has been the leader in online casual games since 1998. Featuring a growing library of 60+ titles spanning popular genres like Solitaire, Mahjong, Match 3, and more, Pogo exists to be the best destination for online casual games. We strive to produce high‑quality HTML5-powered games with sophisticated metagames and social mechanics, all while working seamlessly across desktop, tablet and mobile. Our fans and subscribers come to Pogo for fresh content, daily challenges, great events, new games, and a live service that delivers!

We are looking for an experienced Game Designer to join our New Games team in North America.

As a member of our Games team, you will be responsible for ensuring quality in our new games by serving as a bridge between Pogo and our external development partners. By becoming an expert in Pogo, from our players’ motivations to our business goals to our internal team needs to the many nuances of the product itself, you will facilitate the creation of high quality games and work with the rest of the design team to integrate them into our ongoing live service.

What You Will Do

  • Review and approve milestone submissions from external partner studios for games in development.
  • Plan and run playtests of games in development to validate hypotheses, gather feedback, and improve quality.
  • Become an expert in our longstanding (25+ years) product, Pogo, and its players.
  • Design clear and efficient tooling and documentation for internal stakeholders to produce ongoing work, such as Limited Time Events, for Live Service.
  • Balance and tune Pogo site‑level systems such as Ranks or Challenges in new games.
  • Balance and tune game economies, taking both player experience and monetization goals into consideration.
  • Review design work of internal design team members and provide feedback.
  • Work with relevant disciplines (Art, Engineering, Product, Production, UX) to align on game vision.
  • Analyze market data and react to current trends in the industry to inform design decisions.
  • Analyze internal data to understand our players’ experience and inform design decisions.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of design experience, with shipped games, preferably in casual / mobile.
  • Experience with systems and gameplay design, preferably in F2P or casual games.
  • Passion for making games, and an understanding of the casual market.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Experience working with a distributed / remote development team
  • Knowledge of the game industry, trends, competition, platforms, and market.
  • What’s in it for you?

A creative environment, engaging work, excellent benefits, and lots of great perks. Plus, the chance to shape the gaming habits and lifestyles of everyone you know – not just the gamers in your family, but all types of players. At Electronic Arts, we exist to Inspire the World to Play. We create extraordinary new game experiences for our millions of players everywhere by bringing together talented people that combine creativity, innovation, and passion. We know that our strength lies in the diversity of our people. We immerse our employees into an inclusive culture and provide opportunities for learning and leading that allow them to do the most impactful and rewarding work of their careers.
