Your primary objective will be to ensure the safety and functionality of our ice facilities.This is your opportunity to train in a new role, achieve your Ice Facility Operator (IFO) certification and use your mechanical aptitude to keep our Planet Ice facilities running at peak efficiency. You will be working alongside an amazing team.Ideally, you have a knack for fixing all things mechanical and a couple years’ experience working in a manufacturing, industrial or warehouse environment. If you’re new to the world of hockey arena operations, have a strong mechanical aptitude, relevant work experience, and a positive “can-do” attitude, and assist you to become IFO certified.Key Responsibilities :
- Learn and understand the operations of ice resurfacing machines, HVAC systems, and other mechanical equipment.
- Assist with daily maintenance tasks, such as ice resurfacing, facility cleaning, and equipment inspections.
- Collaborate with experienced Arena Operators and follow their guidance to acquire knowledge and skills.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Demonstrate integrity and professionalism in all interactions with coworkers and the public.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Canadian Driver's License ib good standing.
- Strong work ethic and a passion for the job.
- Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning about ice facilities equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to safety and a willingness to follow safety protocols.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Willingness to complete the Arena Operator Training Program and become IFO certified.

- Willingness and ability to train and work at all lower mainland locations (Coquitlam, Delta, Maple Ridge)Training : we are committed to your success and will provide comprehensive training to help you excel in this role. The Arena Operator Trainee will undergo our structured training program, which includes both classroom instruction and on-the-job training. Upon successful completion of the program, you will become an Ice Facilities Operator (IFO) certified professional.Duration : the Arena Operator Trainee role is expected to be a full-time commitment for a minimum of 18 months. During this time, you will receive training and mentorship to become a skilled IFO.
