Job Description Construction Administrator
CoreRoles and Responsibilities
The successfulcandidate will be the customer facing representative for thecompany for construction phase of projects interfacing with clientsArchitects and other consultants.
Duties
- Attendbuilding construction sites observe the installation of HVAC pipingand plumbing systems and prepare project status and observeddeficiency reports to ensure mechanical systems are installed inconformance with the engineered drawings and specifications andapplicable municipal provincial and national buildingcodes.
- Review contract documents (drawings andspecifications) prior to the start of construction.
- Review contractor submittals for compliance with theconstruction documents and applicable codes.
- Work with Mechanical contractors General contractorsArchitects and Clients to solve site coordination issues andtrouble shoot problems that arise during construction.
Experience &Qualifications
Strongunderstanding of Construction in particular the installation andoperation of mechanical systems including : plumbing HVAC heatingcooling air handlers and fire protection.
Ability to interpretconstruction drawings and specifications.
- Avalid Trades license as Plumber Pipe Fitter HVAC or RefrigerationTechnician with multifamily highrise experience or a Diploma inMechanical Engineering Technology or Degree in MechanicalEngineering with 10 years experience in Construction Administrationor Field Inspection services.
- Strong knowledgeof current codes and standards related to the mechanical systems inhigh rise commercial and multifamily buildings.
- Candidates must be able to confidently review mechanicalequipment submittals identify installation deficiencies generatenonconformance reports and punch lists and respond to Site Queries(RFI’s)
- Excellent oral and writtencommunication skills are a must as is experience with MicrosoftWord and Bluebeam Revu and Online Construction Management Softwareincluding Fieldwire Procore Newforma and Autodesk Build.
