Casual Caretakers - Camrose

We are accepting applications for Casual Caretakers in Camrose, Alberta. This is hourly, on-call work with opportunities for temporary, long term assignments and eligibility to apply for permanent, advertised positions. Hourly wage starts at $23.60 per hour. As a Casual Caretaker, you will play an important role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming learning environments. Flexibility, reliability, and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.Duties and Responsibilities1.Clean and sanitize washrooms and eating areas; refill all consumables (soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, etc.)2. Clean and sanitize all "high touch" equipment and areas.3. Dust, clean, wash, wax and polish floors, walls, windows and furniture throughout the entire building.4. Vacuum classrooms and steam clean carpets.5. Operate janitorial equipment such as auto scrubbers, polishers, vacuums, shampooers, steam cleaners, etc.6. Empty trash containers and remove all trash from buildings to appropriate containers.7. Manage the appropriate recycling of materials in the building.8. Inspect the outside of the building including playgrounds/play structures to ensure the areas are safe and maintained.9. Maintain the cleanliness of playgrounds and ornamental areas adjacent to the building(s).10. Ensure adjacent walkways are free of snow and ice and other hazards.11. Perform ground maintenance to adjacent walkways and ornamental areas (cut and trim grass areas, weed all flower and shrub beds, etc.).12. Report any maintenance or safety issues to the Director of Facility Operations and Maintenance.13. Requisition and maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies, materials, tools and equipment.14. Ensure the building is secure in accordance with the School/Building Security Plan.15. Perform all duties in compliance with Board policies and legal regulations.16. Perform other duties as required by the Director of Facility Operations and Maintenance or designate.
