We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction General Manager to join our team in Windsor, ON.
Position Overview :
As a Construction General Manager, you will set company objectives, oversee construction projects, and coordinate operations while ensuring efficient resource utilization and compliance with safety standards.
You will develop policies, manage budgets, and maintain client relationships to drive organizational success. This role requires extensive travel to construction sites throughout Canada and the United States, with potential for international travel depending on company needs.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Set clear objectives for the company.
2. Formulate or approve policies and programs in line with organizational goals.
3. Authorize and organize the establishment of major departments and associated senior staff positions.
4. Allocate material, human, and financial resources to implement company policies and programs effectively.
5. Establish financial and administrative controls to ensure efficient resource utilization.
6. Approve overall personnel planning strategies to ensure the right talent is in place to achieve company objectives.
7. Select middle managers, or other executive staff members who align with company values and goals.
8. Coordinate the work of regions, divisions, or departments to ensure cohesive operations and synergy across the organization.
9. Represent the company in official functions, negotiations, or important meetings.
10. Delegate representatives when necessary to act on behalf of the company in such functions.
11. Oversee the planning and execution of construction projects across various areas, ensuring alignment with company objectives and client requirements.
12. Monitor project progress to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
13. Implement effective project management methodologies to optimize efficiency and minimize risks.
14. Optimize resource utilization to maximize productivity and minimize wastage.
15. Develop project budgets and monitor expenses throughout the project lifecycle.
16. Implement cost control measures to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
17. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards across all projects.
18. Foster positive relationships with clients by providing excellent service, addressing concerns, and ensuring project deliverables meet their expectations.
19. Provide feedback and coaching to ensure continuous growth and development within the organization.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Over 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, including production, project / construction management.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a middle manager in construction or project management.
- Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification is preferred.
- Proven track record of overseeing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
- Demonstrated ability to set clear objectives and manage multiple departments.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and industrial construction methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation.
- Ability to implement effective project management methodologies and optimize resource utilization.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to mitigate risks.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and manage subcontractors and vendors.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel 100% for project needs.

- Salary : $95,100.00 - $105,000.00 per year or 44 / hr
