Work environment
Transport Canada’s Prairie & Northern Region is looking for highly motivated TDG Developmental Inspectors, at the TI-05 level!
What does this mean?
Developmental inspectors are provided with on-the-job training and learning opportunities to acquire technical knowledge, gain enforcement experience and develop critical skills and abilities so that, after a maximum of two years, they may be promoted to TDG Inspectors (TI-06).

EDUCATION
ED : A secondary school diploma or acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
EXPERIENCE
EX1 : Experience conducting, monitoring, or coordinating compliance activities.
EX2 : Experience in analyzing data to provide advice and recommendations.
EX3 : Experience in consolidating information from multiple sources, reviewing and preparing various documents such as reports, procedures, or briefings.
EX4 : Experience in participating in working groups, or project teams, in a collaborative environment.
EX5 : Recent experience* in using Microsoft software (such as Word, Excel, and Outlook).
Recent experience* is understood to mean approximately three CUMULATIVE years of work experience in the past 5 years.

EDUCATION
AED1 : Post-secondary diploma related to the job.
AED2 : Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with an acceptable specialization in Criminology.
AED3 : Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with a specialization in chemistry, engineering, or related field.
EXPERIENCE
AEX1 : Experience in a regulatory / legislative work environment.
AEX2 : Experience in conducting regulatory inspections and / or investigations.
AEX3 : Experience in comprehending and applying legislation or policies.
AEX4 : Experience in technical writing (e.g., policies, procedures, guidelines, inspection reports, etc.)
AEX5 : Experience in communicating with the public about regulatory and technical subjects.

Conditions of employment
Secret security clearance
Possession of a valid Provincial Driver's License.
Pre-employment Medical Examination Category III.
Willingness and ability to work overtime (including nights, weekends, stand-by / on call), and travel for extended periods regionally, nationally, and internationally using all modes of transportation.
Willingness and ability to work in adverse environments and weather conditions and, on occasion, climb structures and equipment of facilities on sites where the access is difficult and the terrain rugged.
Willingness to work alone in isolated areas.
