Reporting to the Manager of Culture & Engagement, the Culture & Engagement Associate plays a pivotal role in our diversity and inclusion initiatives, as well as our commitments to Truth and Reconciliation.
In this role, you will primarily be responsible for :
- Contributing to the development of initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture, such as team-building activities, recognition programs, and wellness initiatives
- Assisting with the planning and coordination of employee events and activities, ensuring they are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with organizational goals
- Working with the Manager, Culture & Engagement to develop and maintain relationships with local Indigenous communities and organizations to support E-Comm’s Truth & Reconciliation commitments
- Planning and executing programs, events, workshops, and activities that promote understanding, education, and reconciliation
- Assisting in the rollout of IDEA initiatives, ensuring they are integrated into all aspects of the organization
- Supporting the development and delivery of IDEA-related training programs to promote a culture of inclusion and equity
- Collecting and analyzing data on IDEA metrics, providing insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement in diversity and inclusion efforts
- Coordinating all aspects of our new employee orientation including scheduling sessions, preparing materials, presenting information, and answering employee questions, ensuring a consistent and inclusive experience for all new employees
- Gathering feedback from new hires about their onboarding experience and recommending improvements to enhance the process
- Supporting Learning & Development by scheduling and organizing training sessions, including booking venues, arranging materials, and coordinating with trainers and participants
- Creating and managing training materials, resources, and documentation to support continuous learning within the organization
- Maintaining records of training participation and progress, and generating reports to evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives
WHAT YOU WILL BRING :
- Completion of a certificate or degree in Human Resources or related field, plus experience in a unionized environment, employee engagement, learning and development, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a progressive People & Culture environment
- Thorough understanding of human resources best practices, regulations, policies, and procedures related to the work performed
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce and demonstrated ability to promote an inclusive work environment
- Knowledge of strategies for promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the workplace
- Prior experience working in a unionized environment would be particularly advantageous
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees, management, and external partners
- Meticulous attention to detail for handling sensitive employee information and ensuring compliance with regulations
- Capacity to make informed decisions based on data and organizational policies
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS :
As a condition of employment at E-Comm, the required Police Security Clearance applicable to the position must be acquired and maintained.
This is a process carried out by our law enforcement partner agencies, facilitated by E-Comm. The minimum residency in Canada to qualify for this position, as established by our law enforcement partner agencies, is 5 years.

Vaccination Policy : E-Comm 911 has a vaccination policy that is currently suspended. However, should the policy be reinstated, it will be a requirement for all current and future employees.
