Survey Technician (Summer Student)

This approach, along with our extreme work ethic, makes us a service provider of choice for many clients. Based in Espanola , ON , the Survey Technician will report to the Survey Crew Chief and will have a wide range of duties which ultimately focus on conventional surveying services.

You will be part of a team that provides a full range of traditional surveying services as well as construction monitoring, precision layout, and high-definition 3D laser scanning.

What You’ll Do : The Survey Technician will be part of the Geomatics team. You will : Organize field equipment and supplies Ensure all field equipment is accounted for and maintained in good working order Demonstrate the essential skills related to the use of all field equipment used to perform job responsibilities Assist in the collection of field data using various survey instruments, levels, and GPS field equipment Clear away bush and trees from lines of a survey as needed Please note that this job description is not meant to be an all-inclusive statement of every duty and responsibility that will ever be required of an employee in the job.

Who You Are : You are proficient in the use of various survey instruments, calculators, levels, and GPS field equipment or have the aptitude to learn You are willing to travel for site inspections and fieldwork You make decisions and exercise independent judgment within defined parameters and in alignment with business objectives You can pivot and alter approach to accomplish desired results You are not afraid to raise your hand when you need help or guidance You are trusted and provided freedom to work independently but also contribute to the overall team success What You Should Bring : The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a college program in Civil Engineering Technician or Technology or have equivalent experience.
