We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to support the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of large-scale industrial water and thermal systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in engineering activities related to pumping systems, hydraulic analysis, and steam / condensate operations within a complex industrial environment. This role requires a strong technical foundation, practical field awareness, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
This is a full‑time, on‑site contract position based in Calgary , with an expected duration of 12–18 months .
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with corporate Health, Safety & Environmental requirements.
- Perform detailed engineering to deliver high‑quality, discipline‑specific designs.
- Build strong, collaborative working relationships with project stakeholders and coordinate alignment to meet business needs, cost targets, and schedule commitments.
- Work closely with Operations to ensure design criteria, operability, and business requirements are fully addressed.
- Support development of cost estimates and schedules, and execute work to meet these targets.
- Comply with all aspects of the Project Quality Management System.
- Ensure engineering contractor deliverables meet safety, environmental, operability, efficiency, and maintainability standards.
- Lead engineering activities for large industrial water pumping systems, including system design, pump selection, and operational optimization.
- Perform pump and pipe sizing, equipment specification, and preparation of engineering documentation (design basis, datasheets, calculations).
- Conduct detailed hydraulic calculations including steady‑state and transient flow analysis (surge / water hammer, startup / shutdown, system dynamics).
- Provide technical expertise on steam systems, heat exchangers, and condensate recovery networks.
- Troubleshoot system performance issues, identify root causes, and implement effective engineering solutions.
- Review multidisciplinary engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, process simulations, and control narratives.
- Support field activities including installation, commissioning, start‑up, and system handover.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent).Minimum 10+ years of engineering experience in industrial facilities.Proven experience with large industrial water pumping systems, pump selection, and system hydraulics.Proficiency in hydraulic modeling tools and transient analysis.Strong knowledge of steam, heat exchanger, and condensate systems.Demonstrated experience supporting construction, commissioning, and start‑up.Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with APEGA, or eligible for registration.#J-18808-Ljbffr
