Accounts Payable Manager
Our client is looking for a Temp-to-Perm Accounts Payable Manager to join their team in Airdrie. The ideal candidate will be a strong team player, ready to contribute to process improvements and help guide the department toward operational excellence.
Your success will be defined by your ability to :
- Provide leadership and support to an amazing team of analysts, ensuring the team is equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge to adapt to process changes and new technologies
- Oversee daily operations of the accounts payable department, including cash management, month end and reconciliations.
- Manage multiple banking relationships, ensuring smooth execution of payments, transfers, and banking operations.
- Coordinate with treasury to ensure adequate cash flow and manage payment schedules.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments, maintaining high levels of accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Lead the team in process improvements, automating where possible, and resolving discrepancies effectively.
- Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure favorable terms and smooth operational execution.
- Prepare reports for management on cash flow, payment trends, and any risks related to accounts payable.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and internal controls.
- Support audits and work closely with other departments such as finance, procurement, and treasury to optimize cross-functional processes.
- Mentor and guide the AP team, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
Your strengths include :
- Degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable management, with 2 years being in a managerial role.
- Strong focus on cash transfers, treasury management, and handling multiple banks.
- Excellent understanding of accounts payable workflows and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in AP systems and financial software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Team-oriented mindset with proven leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and influence key stakeholders.
