EPCOR’s Regulatory & Planning team is hiring one (1) Business Performance and Analytics Specialist [Permanent Full-Time position] in Edmonton, AB – a strategic role focused on driving operational excellence and business performance through data-informed insights and robust control processes. This position blends business acumen with analytical expertise and is focused on business operations, process improvement, and data-driven decision-making within Customer Care and Energy Services. While proficiency in tools such as SQL and Power BI enables analytics and reporting, e mphasis is on operational planning, regulatory compliance, and business control s — not IT, programming, or system administration .

In this position, you’ll interpret complex data, translate it into actionable recommendations, and influence strategies that strengthen EPCOR’s operational and financial outcomes.

Additionally, you ’ ll support Customer Care’s Workforce Planning and Energy Services (Canada and U.S.) by delivering accurate forecasts, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing performance, and enabling informed decision-making for senior leaders.

What you’d be responsible for

Reporting to the Manager , Business Analytics , you will have the following key accountabilities (but are not limited to these) :

• Providing analysis, development, and monitoring of Customer Care strategic goals, including implementing numerical frameworks for budgets, supporting financial decisions (including shared service strategies across the BU), preparing regulatory filings, and producing management and variance reports while ensuring strong data governance.
• Driving continuous improvement in Customer Care operations by developing and executing operational plans related to workforce planning, performance management, operational efficiency, and business sustainability, using industry benchmarks to inform recommendations and occasionally leading their implementation.
• Researching, a nalyzing and evaluating new business opportunities to support Customer Care sustainability—engaging third parties, assessing risks and regulatory environments, and breaking down complex problems and data into clear, actionable insights to inform strategic direction.
• Contributing to the development of analytic s models for forecasting and business process optimization and conducting scenario planning and applying strong analytical acumen to support process improvement initiatives and inform decision-making.
• Creating automated reports and dashboards for Energy Services using tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL and Python to provide timely insights for leadership.
• Developing and maintaining robust business controls and processes for Workforce Planning that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Reviewing and reinforcing adherence to data governance principles within Customer Care, identifying and closing gaps to ensure data integrity.
• Representing Customer Care on cross-functional projects and initiatives that require analytical expertise and operational knowledge, including leading change management efforts, engaging stakeholders, and being accountable for executing recommendations.
• Establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with peers and stakeholders across Energy Services and EPCOR to support business objectives.

What’s required to be successful

The successful candidate will possess the following q ualifications, experience and behaviours :

Required (Must Haves) :

5 + years of business analytics or operational planning within a corporate environment

Assets (Nice-to-Haves) :

The following abilities and experience s will be considered an asset :

Ability to use Power Query and familiarity with automation tools for reporting, such as basic scripting in Python.
