Position : Court Services Summer Student Start Date : May 4, 2026 Employment Status : Summer Student (up to 16 weeks) Reporting To : Manager of Court Services Union Affiliation : Non-union Posting Date : February 3, 2026 Closing Date February 24, 2026 at 4 : 30 pm Contract Duration : May 4, 2026 – September 4, 2026 Position Summary : Perth County is recruiting for a Court Services Summer Student to assist in the Provincial Offences Administration division.
This Summer Student position will provide the opportunity to learn from the experience of the Court Services Clerks and assist in providing administrative support service to the Ontario Court of Justice – Provincial Offences Court, judiciary, other court offices, general public, enforcement agencies and legal profession.
Primary Responsibilities : Administration : Inputs all certificates of offence, parking certificates and information into the CAMS system for upload into the provincial ICON (Integrated Court Offences Network) computer system Receives incoming mail, process and distribute as appropriate Balance daily cash receipts and prepare bank deposit Assist in the preparation and distribution of notices of trial, early resolution notices, and requests to reschedule court dates and file in applicable dates Receive, review and prepare for the judiciary notices of motion, re-opening requests and extension applications Providing back up duties for central reception Once the student has the knowledge base to do so, answers enquiries and responds to requests from the general public at the counter and over the telephone Court Monitoring : Prepare and distribute court docket, set up court room, keep record of court proceedings and administer proper procedural declarations Update all dispositions from court including fail to responds, extensions and re-openings, prepare and input courtroom utilization and update trial coordinator’s diary Qualifications : A Student in Business / Legal Administration / Criminal Degree / Diploma program Sound knowledge of Provincial Offences legislation as acquired through post-secondary education Advanced proficiency in using Microsoft Office software.
