HOTT also offers specialized support services to vulnerable residents. Job Posting - Maintenance Coordinator - Full-time HOTT seeks a permanent full-time Maintenance Coordinator to be responsible for the maintenance work at HOTT properties.
The position offers a competitive annual salary of $55,000, flexible working hours and health benefits. Overview of Position : The Maintenance Coordinator contributes to quality living environments consistent with HOTT's mission and values.
This position works collaboratively with HOTT staff and tenants and reports to the Executive Director. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to : Respond to and address incoming and ongoing work orders in unitsPerform minor repairs in unitsPerform unit and common area inspections, and ensure that all RentSafeTO requirements are metMonitor and evaluate the work of trades companies and contracted services after work is completed in common areas such as mechanical, electrical, plumbing, roofing, general maintenance and groundsMonitor and inspect on a frequent basis to ensure that all building facilities, structural and mechanical integrity, equipment and materials, safety and security systems are properly always maintained and safe, and adhere to the preventative maintenance planEnsure fire safety and life safety tests and checks are performed according to legislated requirements and HOTT standards including daily visits to multi-residential propertiesMaintain grounds including seeding, watering, and cutting grass;
removing fall leaves; keeping hard surfaces free of snow and iceEnsure garbage, recycling, and green bins are kept clean and brought to curb on collection daysMaintain up to date MSDS, fire logbooks, emergency generator log records, inventory and equipment lists, security and key systems, and ensure key controlMaintain and update the property management software system for the ongoing maintenance of HOTT propertiesBe responsible for building hygiene and overall cleanliness of properties, pest control programs, monitoring of air quality systems, litter pick up, garbage-bin cleanliness, graffitiEnsure that all HOTT property interiors are kept in good condition.
This includes paint touch-ups, up to date signage, and organizing HOTT storage areasEnsure all maintenance equipment is in good working condition and that maintenance related supplies are restocked and replaced as neededAssist with restocking, distributing, and replacing supplies and parts including : cleaning supplies, plumbing and hardware parts, etc.
Responsible for applying pest control products and protocols, and monitoring buildings for presence of pestsAssist with maintaining key systemsConstantly evaluate work methods, products and systems to improve efficiency, quality and effectiveness of service to tenants, and to reduce costsSpend funds within approved budget limits for defined property maintenance expenditures and provide input into the operating budget for HOTT propertiesObtain and review quotes with Executive Director for identified purchases and work to be done by trades and contractorsRespond appropriately to emergency situationsRegular on-call duties shared with other staff on a rotational basisPerform other duties as assigned Requirements : Strong written and spoken EnglishExcellent communication skillsStrong organization skills and punctualityExcellent customer service skill with sensitivity towards working with marginalized populationsA valid driver's license as well as access to a vehicle at all timesMust reside in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) due to on-call responsibilitiesAbility to work co-operatively with tenants, staff, trades, and community resourcesThorough knowledge of cleaning materials, cleaning equipment, fire safety, preventative maintenance, and mechanical and electrical systemsFamiliarity with applicable codes and legislation such as Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA), Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Residential Tenancies Act (RTA), Housing Services Act (HSA), Ontario Fire Code, Building Code and Human Rights CodeAbility to use standard workplace computer applications and software such as MS OfficeAbility to lift up to 30 kilograms and to work in situations where exposed to heights, chemicals, odours, animals, pests, smoke, and outside weather conditionsA current police reference check Helpful to have : WHMIS certificationEmergency First Aid and CPR certificationFall Safety certificationLanguages other than English How to ApplyPlease apply for the position by e-mailing a resume and cover letter to info@hott.
